Vendor Information

If you are a farmer or artist and would like a space to show your products for this years' Poplar Head Farmers Market, click on the application below to download and print, fill out and sign, and mail to Poplar Head Farmers Market, c/o Paula Hennig, Market Manager, 661 Westbrook Rd. Dothan, AL 36303.Please include a check for $20.00 made out to Poplar Head Farmers market. A $30.00 late fee should be added if mailed after May 10th.

If you are a new vendor, please send photos and/or samples of your products. The photos/samples will not be returned, so it is not necessary to send professional photos. Weekly booths are also available for artisans.

Before applying, please read the rules and guidelines being sure that your products comply with regulations from the Health Department 334.678.2805 and the City, County and State. The Downtown Group is securing a City of Dothan license that will cover all vendors for the two months. All vendors other than farmers will need a Transient Business License from Houston County. You can reach them at 334.677.4742. Vendors are responsible for collecting and paying Alabama state sales tax.

Farmers will need a Grower’s Permit only and are not required to pay tax. Georgia and Florida farmers living within 25 miles of the Alabama state line are eligible to participate. Farmers should be registered with the Farmers Market Nutrition Program from the Farmers Market Authority 877.774.9519, or www.fma.alabama.gov and be prepared to accept vouchers on market days. The best way for us to keep expenses down is to communicate by email, so be sure you include an email address, if that’s the best way to reach you. A check for $20.00 to reserve your first space should be sent with your application. Spaces at the market will be designated as payments arrive on a first come, first serve basis. If we are not able to include you, we will return your $20.00 check. All applications must be received by May 15, 2010. Applications received after May 15, 2010 will be placed on a waiting list.
